STAGE 2 - Balanced Scorecard for Skills
SUMMARY
Most workplace education programs are reactive, rather than
proactive. In other words, these programs are quite often
established in response to ad hoc requests, or perceived shortcomings,
or what is thought is needed, or in response to the latest
trend, etc. It doesn't have to be this way. By aligning with
overall business strategies in a Balanced Scorecard approach,
the workplace education function can become central to long-term
business success and be seen as a key investment in realizing
key business strategies. By helping develop an organization's
human capital in alignment with business strategy, the Human
Resources Department becomes a key strategic partner in driving
the organization forward.
