STAGE 3 - Balanced Scorecard for Skills
BACKGROUND
The PDCA Cycle
Management by planning uses a process of continuous improvement
called the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle. For our purposes, the
PDCA cycle is
- Plan: what evaluations should we do
to support the balanced scorecard?
- Do: evaluate the effectiveness of these
workplace education programs in relationship to the balanced
scorecard
- Check: what did we learn and what else
do we need to know?
- Act: what are the implications for
the organization's management in the future?
The worksheets for this site are organized around this cycle.
It is possible to use the worksheets in isolation, but to
get the most out of the site you should consider integrating
the balanced scorecard and workplace evaluation at each stage
in the PDCA cycle. In fact, the worksheets are laid out in
such a way as to encourage this.
In the first two stages of this site, we emphasized the importance
of getting employees involved in both the definition of the
Balanced Scorecard metrics and in the design of workplace
education evaluation.
